You’ve got your ticket and your outfit is ready, but you’re wondering how a Latin party actually works when you’ve never been to one? Don’t worry: here’s everything you need to know for your first time.

Before you head out

  • Buy your ticket online and early: prices rise with each release and many parties sell out.
  • Bring your photo ID, no exceptions: entry is for guests aged 18 and over.
  • Plan your ride home: taxi, ride-hailing or the first metro. At closing time, taxis wait outside most of our venues.
  • Eat beforehand: it’s going to be a long night.

When should you arrive?

Most parties start at 10 or 11 pm, but the room really fills up after midnight. Arriving between 11 pm and midnight is the sweet spot: a short queue at the door and a dance floor that’s already warm. Check the running order on each party page so you don’t miss the shows.

Dare to dance (even if you can’t)

The good news: at a Latin party, nobody judges. For reggaeton and dembow you dance solo or in a group, just follow the beat. For salsa and bachata, many parties open with a beginner class, like our Salsa & Bachata Night in Ghent.

To ask someone to dance, simply hold out your hand with a smile. A no is never a big deal, and you always thank your partner at the end of the song.

The unwritten rules

  • Respect comes first: no means no. If anyone makes you uncomfortable, tell a staff member straight away.
  • Choruses are for singing: don’t be surprised when the whole room shouts along to Bad Bunny or Marc Anthony.
  • The hand fan is more than an accessory: it’s air conditioning in your pocket.

Drink smart

It’s hot and you’ll be moving a lot: alternate every drink with a glass of water. Bars accept cards and Payconiq. Celebrating something? Consider a VIP table: bottles delivered with sparklers and a private corner for your crew.
